What you then do is follow a chain of intentions recursively to a point where there is no where else to go. Quite often the final state described by people and in my experience could be described as quite spiritual. I would recommend this pattern to anyone without reservation.
The core transformation pattern is one of the more interesting and useful patterns that I have come across in the field of NLP. First and foremost the pattern begins with accepting and acknowledging an aspect of a problem that one is working with in their life and going after the positive intention that is associated with that particular aspect. What you then do is follow a chain of intentions recursively to a point where there is no where else to go. Quite often the final state described by people and in my experience could be described as quite spiritual. I would recommend this pattern to anyone without reservation.

If you've seen any of Richard Bandler's work for the early 80's perhaps you will have heard him refer to taped sessions that he did at Marshall University while researchers were attempting to denounce him as a fraud. This tape set if you can get your hands on it at a decent price is in my opinion some of Bandler's best work. Watching these tapes I love for the days of the old Bandler but alas we all change and evolve our styles overtime. The tape set is of three different client sessions between Bandler and subjects that he had never met before. At the conclusion of each successful there is a follow up with the subjects some time after the session demonstrating that the changes stuck. Andrew Austin is one of the more unorthodox and innovative practitioners in the field of change work. He has created some very useful and unique approaches to working with people including his work with eye movements (IEMT) and his work in metaphors that he terms Metaphors of Movement. Alot of the field of personal development is filled with empty promises and hyperbole. I'm happy to say that Andy is someone that doesn't waste any time cutting through all the crap so that he can offer the gems that he has come across during his time working with clients. Tony Robbins in my opinion is the Bruce Lee of NLP. What I mean by that is that just as Bruce Lee didn't create the Martial Arts of Kung Fu for that matter he did do a lot to introduce them to the general public. Tony has done much to fill this role. The entire personal development industry, personal coaching, etc... would not be what it currently is without his influence for better or for worse. It was from reading his first book, Unlimited Power that I first got into studying NLP. Sure I had heard of Hypnosis before but I had never heard of individuals such as Milton Erickson. So with that in mind I credit him with much. I will say this though the Tony Robbins of the 1980's and 1990's I never really much cared for. The Tony of present day... I like him a lot. He just seems more real to me. That's just my preference. Just real quick before I end this post I would like to draw your attention to Tony's use of language for state elicitation in this clip. Perls was one of the first models in NLP. In fact of his language patterns are the basis for the Meta-Model and was written up in the Structure of Magic, Volume I. It's kind of interesting to watch the man in action that was the model that helped start the field. Most people understand hypnosis as being something that a hypnotist does to someone. When Milton Erickson was around hypnosis at least the way he did it was you knocked out the conscious mind and made use of the rich amount of learning that were stored within the unconscious mind. The type of hypnosis that Stephen Gilligan does is what he calls generative trance. This type of work from what I have heard him say is when the subject internalizes the hypnotist and creates a relationship within himself where he holds constant and intention that he wants to accomplish while they allow their 'creative unconscious' to generate the solutions as to how. Gilligan's work is really very interesting and in my opinion he is the leading authority on Ericksonian Hypnosis. Tom Vizzini & Kim McFarland are perhaps the skillful trainers of Anchoring that I have come across in over a decade of training in Persuasion and Influence. For those that don't know Anchoring is literally a skill that gives it's users feelings at the touch of a button. Imagine being able to capture virtually any feeling and attaching to it to a signal that would allow you to recall it at anytime, anyplace for any use that one could conceive of. In the below clip is a quick demonstration of something that is called, 'Condiment Anchoring'. Kim in this clip has the person that she is working with recall some very pleasurable states. She then attaches them to some sugar packets as she shifts the intensity of the feelings merely by moving around the sugar packets! |
