Living Metaphor - Danie Beaulieu

Impact Therapy was something that I had never heard of before I met Danie. What I was impressed with about how she operated was that she is one of the most exquisite person at anchoring that I have ever met. And she doesn't even do NLP!!!
What Danie is amazing at besides presenting and demonstrating her work in Eye Movement Integration is that she can take any object and create a metaphor out of it to assist client's in making changes. For example if she is working a client that is having self worth issues because they have been battered in previous relationships she will take a twenty dollar bill show it to her clients, wade it up, mash it around and then open it up and ask the client if it change the value of the bill.
It's really amazing to watch her work. I would encourage anyone that would like to learn to use everyday objects to become more influentual in working with clients. I know that she's a therapist and that she comes from a therapeutic orientation but what she teaches is just as effective in sales, customer service or any other profession. You can purchase a DVD of a presentation of her teachings from Real People Press.

NLP Client Session: Limiting Beliefs About Money - Steve Andreas

The field of NLP has way too many people making outlandish claims without any attempts at backing up what they are saying with any type of video proof. Steve Andreas has been in the field for over 30 years. The real treat of this sessions is that you get to see what a client session for an experienced practitioner in the field should look like.
If you watch Steve's work you get to observe some interesting patterns. One that I noticed is that when Steve is working with people it's not that he's doing NLP to someone to the contrary he is engaging in a dialogue with the person that he is working it. It's light hearted, he jokes with them, never gets frustrated with them. In fact Steve acts more as an educator that is imparting vital information to who he is working with as opposed to a therapist that is treating a patient.
Anyone that has studied the work of Virginia Satir knows that she saw the role of a therapist as one of an educator. Steve personifies this role better than anyone I have ever met in the field of NLP and Personal Development. You can purchase a copy of this client session from Real People Press.

NLP Client Session: Resloving Night Terrors - Steve Andreas

This session with Steve and a woman who had been experiencing Night Terrors for years was quite impressive for many different reasons. The two most important in my opinion are first Steve had never worked with this type of problem before the time of this session so this was him demonstrating his boldness in working with a client regarding a situation while having no step by step script to work from (this is a skill that practitioners of the NLP skill set would do well to emulate).
The second reason was that during the session at one point the client is searching possible explanations for their problem that given all the information currently available there would be no way to verify. What this demonstrates is how in the case of a practitioner less skilled than someone like Steve it is possible for practitioners to plant reasons for things that never really happen.
This demonstrates to all practitioners the importance of working as cleanly as possible with clients and projecting one's biases onto the client. Everyone should be thankful that a skilled practitioner such as Steve is sharing with the field of NLP such fine representations of what quality change work should look like. You can purchase this DVD from Real People Press.

Provocative Change Works: Live in the USA - Nick Kemp

This product was tape in August 2010 Advanced Mastery Training that was hosted by the Andreas'. I had never really watched Nick work before and might I saw I was impressed. Alot of what Nick does is based on his modeling of Frank Farrelly. In the early days of NLP, Richard Bandler and John Grinder met Farrelly and to an extent you can see their work was influenced by him.
In my opinion Nick Kemp has modeled more effectively what Frank does than anyone that I know of. Milton Erickson if you read his work closely he would talk about 'disrupting people's mental sets'. In NLP speak he was referring to interrupting people's patterns of thought and behavior.
This is a skill that does not get enough play in the field of NLP nor Hypnosis. What I mean by this is that most people when they have a problem they have thought it over a thousand times from every angle and perspective that they could possibly think of and still have not been able to resolve their issue. In fact anyone that has seen clients for any amount of time is familiar with how clients quite often come in and start spewing their 'story'. This typically does nothing to alleviate a client's ailment and if anything serves as more of an impediment to change than anything.
Nick's crowning achievement is his systemization of pattern interrupts. With this knowledge as soon as your client begins to get stuck you can immediately and purposefully distrupt your client's unproductive thinking. You do this enough and you make it hard for your client to have their problem. Granted that's only one step toward assisting your client in resolving their problem but it's the right step in the right direction. And if you distrupt your client's mental sets effectively enough the rest of your session with them can quickly become a cake walk. You can purchase this product from Anglo American Book Company.

Pragmatics of Change - Smiling Depression - Andrew T. Austin

I purchased this DVD so that I could watch Andy work with this lady that he describes as a smiling depressive. I was particularly impressed with at the beginning of the session you could see the sadness so prevalent in the woman's face. She displayed a tremendous amount tension throughout her face, neck and arms.
Andy worked with this woman by using his method of Eye Movement Therapy. The amount of change that was created for this client was easily noticable and impressive at the same time. I would recommend this work to anyone that is interested in learning 1.) how a client session should go and 2.) how does one make use of Eye Movement Therapy. You can purchase this as a 4 DVD set from Anglo American Book Company (I did not purchase the entire set only the Smiling Depression DVD).

Marshall University Tapes (DVD) - Richard Bandler

If you watch early footage of Richard Bandler he illudes to tapes that he made at Marshall University when the researchers there were investigating his claims with NLP. This DVD series is of three seperate client session with people who have no idea who he is. In my opinion this is some of Richard's best work and it's a good example of what a successful client session should look like. This DVD can be purchased from PureNLP.
